Early Childhood Preschool Teacher

Summit School Early Learning Center is a GOLD circle of quality preschool as awarded by the Governor’s Office of Early Childhood. SELC has an opening for a Preschool Teacher for at risk preschoolers. A Preschool For All teacher is responsible to plan, implement, evaluate and supervise a developmentally inclusive classroom. Responsibilities include - but are not limited to: Plan, prepare and conduct a developmentally appropriate prekindergarten classroom. Conduct screenings to determine a child’s eligibility for the program. Implement classroom goals for each child. Assess children’s progress upon entering the program, track and record progress throughout a child’s tenure. Maintain a portfolio for each child to assess progress throughout the year, and record this progress on progress reports. Prepare progress reports for parents. Conduct parent/teacher conferences and provide information for parents regarding their child’s progress, utilizing portfolio items, and anecdotal records. Teachers MUST have a Professional Educators License in Early Childhood to be considered for this position. Bilingual abilities a plus.
