The program includes advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship training, simulation-based skill assessment, mentorship from experienced nurse leaders, and collaboration on evidence-based practice projects. The Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care, works with medical providers and the care team, and serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers. What will you do in this role Assess patient condition during admission and at each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered, documenting care promptly and thoroughly. Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify providers of unintended responses. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to requests, anticipating needs and resolving proactively. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating medical terminology for full understanding. Qualifications Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, must be obtained before start date. Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse certification; must pass NCLEX on first attempt within 90 days to remain in RN role. No previous experience required. Travel may be required for training sessions. Research Psychiatric Center is a 95-plus bed facility offering acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare for adolescents, adults, and seniors.
