L2 Lead Technician
SQUAN
The L2 Senior Technician is a highly experienced professional who handles complex technical challenges requiring deep domain expertise. This role leads multi-step troubleshooting efforts, performs circuit commissioning, executes optical fiber testing, and provides technical oversight for major deployments. The L3 serves as the onsite technical authority and primary escalation point.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Complex network troubleshooting: OSPF/BGP adjacency issues, VLAN misconfigurations, spanning tree problems Multi-vendor hardware support across diverse environments Circuit turn-ups and acceptance testing (dark fiber, wavelength, Ethernet) Optical testing using OTDR, power meters, and fiber inspection scopes System commissioning and burn-in procedures Technical leadership for deployment projects (crew supervision) Root cause analysis documentation for hardware and connectivity failures Coordination with carriers, ISPs, and third-party vendors Emergency response and P1/P2 incident onsite leadership Development and refinement of site-specific runbooks and MOPsSKILLS AND ABILITIES
Server and storage installation Hardware diagnostics and repair Network connectivity troubleshooting Structured cabling standards Team supervision and mentoring Analytical problem-solving Time management Communication AccountabilityPREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, or Security+ certification. BICSI Installer or Technician certification. Experience with Cisco, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or similar enterprise hardware. Knowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, or cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with DCIM platforms and asset management systems.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5-8 years of data center or network operations experience CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent networking certifications Advanced fiber optic certification (CFOT/CFOS) Demonstrated OTDR proficiency and fiber characterization experienceExperience leading teams in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments Strong documentation and communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr SQUANVacancy posted 1 day ago
