DMV - Driver Education Program Specialist

Program Coordinator III (S) Agency: Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles. Location: District6, Union County, supporting surrounding areas. Description of Work Train and certify school bus drivers in classroom and on‑the‑road settings. Teach safe driving procedures including defensive‑driving courses, driver improvement clinics, and other safety programs. Conduct vision and medical screenings for driver‑education classes. Provide training and certification for commercial driver‑training instructors. Inspect commercial driver‑training schools and vehicles for compliance with state and county laws. Investigate complaints involving commercial driver‑training schools. Complete required weekly reports and maintain all related files. Qualifications Experience providing instruction in a classroom setting. Experience developing or revising lesson plans. Experience completing and maintaining reports and files. Experience with Microsoft applications. Previous or current CDL‑B with passenger and school‑bus endorsements (at least 2years). Experience inspecting and evaluating information, making determinations based on analysis. Knowledge of DMV or federal computer programs and/or inspecting vehicles for CDL law. Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Applicant subject to criminal background and motor‑vehicle records check. Salary Grade NC12: $47,703.00 - $83,479.00.
