Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Training Grant), Psychiatry

Position Summary Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (Training Grant) Department: Psychiatry Research Schedule: 40 hours per week Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Fellow participates in a major research study (or studies) employing established methodologies and techniques and other translational research projects associated with the outcomes. The Fellow supervises laboratory research activities and provides guidance to undergraduate students performing multiple research projects. Responsibilities include monitoring specimens or subjects during studies, collecting and analyzing data, and collaborating with the Principal Investigator in designing and modifying clinical research protocols, coordinating data collection, analysis, and publication of research results, developing new project ideas, and contributing to grant proposals. Job Responsibilities Supervise research activities in the laboratory Provide guidance and direction to undergraduate students performing research projects Monitor specimens or subjects during studies Collect and analyze data Collaborate with the Principal Investigator in designing and modifying the clinical research protocol Coordinate effective collection, analysis, and publication of research results Develop new project ideas and contribute to grant proposals Job Requirements Education: MD or PhD required; exposure to clinical research preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated commitment and enthusiasm toward a research career. Ability to be self‑directed, prioritize essential tasks, and balance numerous responsibilities. Effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with research scientists, clinicians, and administrators. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) and web browsers. Experience with statistical analysis tools preferred. About the Department As the primary teaching hospital for Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and BU schools of public health and dentistry, intellectual rigor shapes our inquiries.
