Job Summary: Provides comprehensive respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes. Operates independently and supervises others, delivering critical respiratory therapies in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess and prioritize patients' respiratory care needs, ensuring appropriate therapies are administered effectively.
  
  
• 
  Administer aerosol, oxygen, and ventilator therapies, maintaining detailed documentation of treatments and responses.
  
  
• 
  Draw and analyze arterial blood gases according to policy and physician orders.
  
  
• 
  Provide care for ventilator-dependent patients, monitoring their status and adjusting treatments as needed.
  
  
• 
  Support department operations through recordkeeping, training, and supervising new staff members.
  
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with all safety standards and department protocols during patient care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential.
  
  
• 
  Possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner license in California.
  
  
• 
  Maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from an approved vendor.
  
  
• 
  Have at least two years of recent critical care experience, with a focus on adult and geriatric populations.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in arterial blood gas analysis and ventilator management.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills essential for supervising staff and collaborating with physicians.
