This Self Contained Special Education Teacher role offers a rewarding opportunity to work within a dedicated special education team, supporting multiple age groups. The position emphasizes individualized instruction, behavior support, and collaboration to effectively meet the diverse needs of students through tailored educational plans.
Responsibilities
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
- Provide behavior support and classroom management
- Conduct student assessments and progress reporting
- Deliver individualized instruction to meet student needs
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
- Collaborate effectively with staff and special education team members
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Special Education Teaching Certification
- Permanent Education License (PEL) or LBS1 certification
- Experience with IEP development and implementation
- Strong behavior management and classroom instruction skills
- Excellent communication, patience, and collaboration abilities
- Adaptability and conflict resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Flexibility with various positions according to comfort level in caseload size
