Why GI F T Matters Families Role Description As a GIFT Advisor, you will help individuals and families better understand their financial protection and long‑term planning options. Advisors take an education‑first approach, helping clients identify their goals, understand potential gaps, and explore strategies designed to protect their families, build financial confidence, and create a lasting legacy. This role combines financial education, client relationship management, and business development. GIFT Advisors meet with prospective clients, conduct needs‑based conversations, explain available financial and insurance solutions, and help clients determine which options may be appropriate for their individual circumstances. Key responsibilities include: Building relationships with individuals, families, and community members through networking, referrals, and outreach Conducting educational financial conversations and client needs assessments Helping clients understand concepts related to life insurance, financial protection, retirement preparation, and legacy planning Presenting appropriate insurance and financial solutions within the scope of the advisor’s licensing and training Providing ongoing client service and maintaining long‑term relationships Participating in ongoing training, mentorship, professional development, and team meetings Developing a personal client base and referral network Maintaining applicable licensing, compliance, and ethical standards Previous financial‑services experience is not required. Training and mentorship are provided. Candidates should be coachable, self‑motivated, comfortable building relationships, and willing to develop their communication, financial‑services, and business‑development skills. Because advising activities involve regulated financial products, individuals must obtain and maintain the appropriate state license(s) before conducting activities that require licensure. This opportunity is well suited for someone interested in financial education, entrepreneurship, client service, and helping families make more informed decisions about their financial futures. Qualifications Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills Genuine interest in helping individuals and families improve their financial knowledge and preparedness Self‑motivated, dependable, and comfortable working with a high degree of personal accountability Coachable and willing to participate in ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development Comfortable meeting new people, developing professional relationships, and building a client base through networking, referrals, and outreach Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly and professionally Strong ethical standards and commitment to serving clients with integrity Ability to manage time effectively and follow through consistently with clients and prospective clients Willingness and ability to obtain the required state insurance license(s); licensing guidance and training are provided Ability to comply with applicable state regulations, carrier requirements, and company policies Preferred, but not required Previous experience in customer service, sales, education, financial services, insurance, entrepreneurship, or other relationship‑focused work Experience working independently or in a performance‑based environment Existing life and/or health insurance license No prior financial‑services experience is required. We welcome candidates from a variety of professional backgrounds who are willing to learn, become appropriately licensed, and develop the skills necessary to serve clients effectively. Compensation & Work Structure This is an independent contractor opportunity, not a salaried or hourly employee position. Compensation is commission‑based and is tied to successfully placed business; there is no guaranteed salary or hourly wage. Advisors have flexibility in building their schedules and businesses while working within applicable licensing, compliance, and carrier requirements. Candidates who are not currently licensed must obtain the appropriate state insurance license before conducting activities that require licensure. Guidance, training, mentorship, and ongoing professional development are provided to support candidates through the licensing process and as they develop their practice. Candidates are generally responsible for costs associated with obtaining and maintaining their required license(s), which may include pre‑licensing education, examination, background check/fingerprinting, application, and renewal fees.
