POSITION SUMMARY:

Overland Corporation is currently seeking an experienced CDL Truck Driver with asphalt paving experience to support operations throughout Southern Oklahoma and North Texas. This position is responsible for safely operating asphalt tack trucks and other commercial vehicles while supporting paving crews and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to travel and work flexible schedules to support project needs.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

• Safely operate asphalt tack trucks and other commercial vehicles in support of paving operations.
• Must have HAZMAT endorsements for operation of asphalt tack trucks.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including taking specific action to avoid incidents involving the traveling public.
• Operate equipment efficiently while following direction from supervisors and management.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain DOT-required logbooks and comply with all federal and state transportation regulations.
• Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Assist paving crews and perform additional labor duties as required.
• Work collectively with crew members and management in a team-oriented environment.
• Maintain a professional attitude and positive work ethic on all job sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL license with applicable endorsements.
• Must maintain a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of asphalt paving operations and hauling procedures.
• Understanding of DOT regulations, logbook requirements, and safe driving practices.
• Familiarity with operating near heavy highway construction equipment and active traffic zones.
• Knowledge of equipment inspections and preventative maintenance procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous asphalt paving experience required.
• Good safety and driving record required.
• Strong verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel and work out of town as needed.
• Willingness to perform heavy labor and assist crews when required.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, overtime, swing shifts, and graveyard shifts.
• Valid CDL license and applicable endorsements required.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
• Ability to work near, around, and on light and heavy construction equipment safely.
• Must be able to safely climb into and out of trucks and equipment.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, and work boots.
• Travel throughout Southern Oklahoma and North Texas is required.
