Sr Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer Acarin Inc is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our IT consulting team in Columbia, MD. This role offers the opportunity to leverage advanced data engineering expertise, particularly with Databricks, to design and implement robust data solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills and excellent communication abilities to drive data initiatives in a collaborative, onsite environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks and related technologies Architect and implement data warehouse solutions and data lake infrastructure to support business intelligence and analytics requirements Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions Optimize data processing workflows for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness Implement data quality monitoring and validation processes to ensure data integrity across systems Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on data engineering best practices Participate in client meetings and technical discussions to gather requirements and present solutions Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues in production environments Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to existing data architecture Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field 9+ years of experience in IT with focus on data engineering, data architecture, or related roles 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Databricks platform and Apache Spark US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) status required Ability to work onsite at our Columbia, MD office Required Skills Strong proficiency in SQL and database management systems Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their data services Programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modeling Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing frameworks Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in team environments and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications Databricks certifications (Data Engineer Associate/Professional) Experience with streaming data processing and real‑time analytics Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering Experience in IT consulting or client‑facing roles Familiarity with data governance and compliance frameworks Advanced degree in relevant technical field What We Offer Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to work with cutting‑edge data technologies Professional development and training opportunities Collaborative work environment with experienced IT professionals Exposure to diverse client projects across various industries Screening Questions Q1: Are you comfortable working in an onsite setting? — Ideal: Yes Q2: Do you currently hold a valid H1B, Green Card, or U.S. Citizenship status? — Ideal: Yes #J-18808-Ljbffr Acarin Inc
