CNC Machinist Mill Turn

Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) Mill/Turn machine. Maintains safety and quality standards, keeps proper documentation, and maintains equipment and supplies to support the achievement of Masterbilt’s business goals and objectives. Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role Plans machining by studying work orders, part blueprints, materials, specifications, engineering plans, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Program by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Sets-up by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, and indicating vices. Develops fixturing designs and tools for proper work holding. Maintains specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments, such as safety glasses.
