Job Description
TITLE
Registered Nurse - Hospice

SCHEDULE
Dayshift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

REQUIREMENTS
- Current RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg
- Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to terminally ill patients, focusing on comfort and symptom management.
- Administer medications and interventions according to physician orders.
- Provide guidance and oversight to certified nursing assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality personal care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds to contribute to care planning and symptom management strategies.
- Offer emotional support and education to families and caregivers regarding end-of-life care.
- Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and communications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
