Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development and delivery of electrical engineering solutions across complex projects. This role will suit an experienced professional who can combine strong technical expertise with sound commercial judgement, while supporting the successful delivery of safe, reliable and compliant systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure electrical designs meet project requirements, applicable standards and operational objectives.


Key responsibilities will include producing and reviewing electrical designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports; developing power distribution, protection, control, lighting, earthing and equipment systems; and providing technical direction throughout the project lifecycle. You will contribute to feasibility studies, concept and detailed design, equipment selection, tender documentation, installation support, testing and commissioning. The role will also involve reviewing contractor submissions, resolving technical issues, managing design changes, assessing risks and ensuring that work is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering and have substantial experience in a senior electrical engineering or design role. Professional registration or chartered status, where applicable, would be advantageous. You will need strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design software and relevant codes and standards, together with experience managing technical deliverables and contributing to project planning and cost control. Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to mentor junior engineers and build effective working relationships. A proactive approach, attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement will be highly valued.
