You'll work closely with the CTO as an early engineering hire, helping shape the frontend architecture, design system, and product direction.This is an opportunity to build intuitive, reliable interfaces for a product with a meaningful impact on senior care operators, residents, and their families.What You Will DoBuild and evolve the design system: Help establish and improve reusable UI components, frontend patterns, and the design system as the product grows.Develop product-facing interfaces: Build intuitive dashboards, portals, and user-facing applications that support senior living operators and their financial workflows.Improve frontend architecture: Strengthen existing frontend systems and establish patterns that make the application easier to maintain and extend.Own features end-to-end: Take ownership of frontend projects from problem definition and design collaboration through implementation, testing, and delivery.Shape product direction: Collaborate with the CTO, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teammates to identify problems and develop effective user experiences.Improve frontend tooling: Propose and implement improvements to the frontend development workflow, component libraries, and supporting tools.Build accessible, user-friendly experiences: Translate complex operational and financial workflows into clear, reliable interfaces.Collaborate across functions: Work effectively with product, operations, and other non-technical stakeholders to understand user needs and deliver practical solutions.Operate with startup ownership: Help define engineering practices, make technical decisions, and contribute beyond narrowly scoped frontend tasks.Use AI-native workflows: Work in an environment that embraces AI-assisted development and encourages engineers to improve how they build and ship software.Ideal Candidate BackgroundRequired Experience3–6 years of professional frontend software engineering experience.Strong hands-on experience building product-facing interfaces, such as dashboards, portals, or user-facing applications.Proficiency in React and TypeScript, with strong JavaScript experience also considered.Experience improving existing frontend systems and building new product features.Experience working in an early-stage or growth-stage startup, or a similarly fast-moving product environment.Ability to own features from initial problem-solving through implementation and delivery.Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with product, operations, and other non-technical stakeholders.A practical approach to frontend architecture, maintainability, usability, and component reuse.Willingness to work in a hybrid arrangement, with three days per week in the New York City or San Francisco office.Technical SkillsFrontend software engineering.React and TypeScript, with JavaScript also relevant.Product-facing application development.Frontend architecture and reusable component design.Design systems and component-driven development.User experience implementation and frontend maintainability.Cross-functional product development and end-to-end feature ownership.Relevant TechnologiesLanguages: TypeScript, JavaScript.Frontend framework: React.Component development: Storybook or comparable component-driven development tools.UI development: Reusable components, design systems, dashboards, and portals.Product domains: Financial workflows, payments, billing, claims, and operational applications.Candidates do not need experience with every technology listed.
