About the Opportunity

A stable and collaborative organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate or accounting professional with some experience to build a career in a supportive, hands-on environment.

The role will focus on processing cash receipts, supporting accounts receivable activities, and assisting with soft collections. Strong computer and Excel skills are important, while prior ERP experience is not required. The company offers a fully in-office, team-oriented environment with flexible start times and opportunities to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Process approximately 150-200 cash receipts per week across multiple bank accounts.
• Support daily accounts receivable and cash application activities.
• Assist with soft collections through professional follow-up with customers regarding outstanding balances.
• Monitor accounts receivable activity and help identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for reporting, tracking, and day-to-day accounting activities.
• Learn and utilize the company's Sage ERP system.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely processing of receivables.
• Support additional accounting responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior accounts receivable, cash application, accounting, or related experience preferred but not required.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Comfortable handling a moderate volume of transactions.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
• No college degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Approximately 1 year of relevant accounting or accounts receivable experience.
• Experience with cash receipts, cash application, or customer collections.
• Experience with Sage ERP or another accounting system.

Work Environment

• Fully in-office position; no remote or hybrid work available.
• Collaborative, team-oriented work environment with close interaction across departments.
• Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.

Compensation Target: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
