Speech Language Pathologist

Position Overview: As a Speech Language Pathologist at Legacy Traditional Schools, you will provide speech and language therapy services and specialized support to help students improve communication and learning skills. This part‑time, 16‑hour‑per‑week role is focused on supporting student success. Essential Functions Identify students needing specialized speech or language services and support them with solutions that enable them to thrive. Facilitate individual and/or group therapy activities using curriculum‑based materials and provide progress reports and documentation. Supervise support staff and consult with educators regarding accommodations, instructional strategies and needed equipment. Provide augmentative and alternative communication systems for individuals with severe expressive or language disorders. Create a learning classroom that engages students and allows them to perform at their best. Use direct instruction techniques to guide students through activities promoting social, physical and intellectual growth. Explore individual student needs and develop personalized solutions for each learning style and ability. Implement our proven curriculum and guide learning toward curriculum goals. Encourage students to uphold values and model mature behavior and good character. Respond to internal and external customers promptly, efficiently, friendly, and patiently. Maintain courteous relationships with students, staff, parents and community with respect. Remain active in the role, lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout campus and traveling as required; participate in events outside normal hours. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s or higher degree in Speech Language Pathology. Valid South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation (LLR) SLP license and South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) SLP Educator Certificate. Successful criminal history background check. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Speech Language Pathologist. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence – SLP. Hybrid Model Four days on campus, one day remote work schedule. Remote days must be approved by the principal, are limited to non‑student‑facing work, and must not interfere with testing, IEP meetings, or urgent student needs. Other Requirements Physical demands include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods, see and read a computer screen and printed material, hear and understand speech, speak in audible tones, and understand and follow oral and written instructions.
