A security guard's job is tomonitor a property for safety and security, and to respond to any emergencies.Security guards are often the first to notice and act on security issues. Responsibilities Patrol :Regularly inspect and patrol the premises Monitor :Monitor surveillance cameras, entrances, and exits Control access :Authorize who can enter and exit the property Respond to alarms :Respond to alarms and other emergencies in a timely manner Report :Report any suspicious activity, incidents, or irregularities Provide assistance :Assist people in need, provide information, and guide traffic Secure :Secure doors, windows, and other entrances Complete reports :Document all observations and incidents in reports Be a deterrent :Be a visible deterrent to crime and rule infractions Skills Communication :Have excellent communication skills Proactive :Be proactive and attentive during working hours Independent :Be able to work independently Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
