Lead Commercial HVAC Service TechnicianThe Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician is a senior-level field professional responsible for delivering exceptional service while leading technicians in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems. This role combines advanced technical expertise with customer communication, job leadership, and quality control to ensure every service call meets company standards for performance, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Lead Technician serves as the face of the company on job sites setting the tone for professionalism, technical excellence, and trust with customers.Responsibilities:Lead and perform complex troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systemsSupport, mentor, and train junior technicians in the fieldOversee job quality, safety compliance, and workmanship standardsCommunicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and repair optionsIdentify repair, upgrade, and preventative maintenance opportunitiesCoordinate with dispatch, service management, and parts teams to ensure efficient service deliveryVerify that all work meets manufacturer, code, and company standardsComplete detailed service documentation and job reportingParticipate in on-call rotations and emergency response when requiredEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED requiredHVAC technical school or equivalent training preferredEPA Section 608 certification requiredValid Montana driver's license and insurable driving record5+ years of commercial HVAC service experiencePrior leadership, mentoring, or field supervision experience strongly preferredExperience with rooftop units, boilers, chillers, controls, and building automation systemsSkills & Abilities:Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsStrong leadership and mentoring abilitiesAbility to explain technical information clearly to customersExcellent decision-making and problem-solving skillsProficiency with HVAC controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration circuitsStrong organizational and time-management skillsHigh level of professionalism and customer service focusAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and lead a crewPhysically able to perform field service work including lifting, climbing, and rooftop access
