This is a PRN ICU position at Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix!

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered. Registry/Per Diem positions require a minimum of 2 shifts a month commitment. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes employment, criminal and education) is required.

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is proud to be a Magnet facility, Academic Medical Center, Level 1 Trauma Center and Designated Stroke Center. We are currently seeking experienced ICU Nurses but at this time we are accepting application for those that have PCU/Telemetry, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background.

Bring your passion for Medical ICU patient care. As a Medical ICU Registered Nurse, you will care for a wide variety of medically diverse patient population that includes high risk obstetrics, liver failure, toxicology, complex abdominal surgeries, and sepsis/multi- system organ failure. Typical treatment plans for patients on the Medical ICU include CRRT, ECMO (Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation), multiple vasopressors, Swan-Ganz catheters and advanced respiratory treatments (i.e. ventilators, oscillators, Nitric oxide). Banner University Medical Center is one of the only two hospitals in the valley that has an adult ECMO program and one of only 3 in the state of Arizona.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.

CORE FUNCTIONS

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs.
• Formulate a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input.
• Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team.
• Evaluate the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revise the plan of care as needed.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record.
• Provide care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice.
• Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
