Staff Accountant

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Greer, South Carolina. This position supports core accounting operations by producing accurate financial reporting, maintaining reliable records, and contributing to compliance and audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of reconciliations, and the ability to deliver timely financial insight that supports business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet accounts
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Analyze variances and provide insight into trends and discrepancies
• Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve accounting issues

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience (internship experience considered)
• Experience preparing journal entries, maintaining general ledger activity, and supporting full-cycle accounting processes.
• Strong background in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Exposure to core accounting functions such as AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
