Job Overview The post is suitable for an individual who wishes to develop clinical skills by delivering phlebotomy services. You will work closely with nursing and medical staff within Outpatients and other clinical areas. Interview Details Interview Date: 25 June 2026 Employment Hours: 27 Hours/Week Main Duties The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of safe and effective care by performing venepuncture and blood collection, ensuring samples are labelled correctly and returned to the laboratory promptly. Key Responsibilities Assist in the delivery of safe and effective care, performing venepuncture and blood collection as requested by medical or nursing staff. Ensure blood samples are labelled correctly and returned to the laboratory in a timely fashion. Work closely with nursing and medical staff within Outpatients and other clinical areas. Essential Skills Ability to work effectively within a team, maintaining initiative. Dexterity to perform phlebotomy duties accurately. Effective organisation and time‑management skills. Basic IT skills. Good literacy and numeracy skills. Desirable Skills Venepuncture skills. Experience in a caring setting. Basic understanding of safeguarding. NVQ Level II qualification. Other Requirements Willingness to be hands‑on with patients, provide reassurance and follow instructions and procedures. Ability to explain procedures to patients in a clear and methodical manner. Good communication, listening and organisational skills. Ability to plan, prioritise own and delegated work tasks and activities.
