About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for the Department of Art and Art History. The successful candidate will be an accomplished academic leader at the full professor level, with a terminal degree in Art History, Studio Art, or Art Education. This role is pivotal in leading one of the largest and most distinguished art and art history departments in the country, with a focus on strategic planning, strengthening graduate programs, fundraising, and external engagement. The Chair will be responsible for setting a visionary course for the department, leading innovation for student outcomes, and building impactful partnerships and outreach. Applicants for the Chair position must demonstrate a distinguished record of scholarship, creative practice, and/or curatorial work, as well as effective academic and administrative leadership. The role requires a candidate who is enthusiastic about addressing the department's needs and is committed to the values of the institution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in art education, be adept at fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment, and be prepared to lead the department in a time of renewal and stability.
