Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – ER position in Utica, NY. This travel assignment begins on 10/11/2026 for 16 weeks in a hospital Emergency Department setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,356 to $2,500 with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Shift is Day 12x3 (6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) with floating as needed. The unit is a busy ED, staffed to treat a wide range of ages and acuity levels.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to ED patients across the lifespan, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
- Perform initial assessment, triage, ongoing patient monitoring, medication administration, and symptom management
- Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and multidisciplinary teams; initiate and follow through on care plans; participate in code/rapid response activation
- Document all patient care in EPIC EMR; maintain accurate nursing notes, orders, and discharge planning
- Utilize ED equipment and protocols (including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun as applicable); assist with patient flow, isolation precautions, and transfer to appropriate units
- Float to other ED areas as assigned, maintain unit readiness, and ensure patient and family education and safety throughout the encounter

Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification) with current status; all RN licenses must be active; RTO must be included at submission
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC required and must be in-hand
- Experience: 2+ years ED nursing experience; pediatric experience preferred; travel experience required
- EMR: EPIC experience preferred
- Education: Diploma or BSN in Nursing; eligible to practice in NY; ability to work in an ED setting and float as needed
- Licensure and documentation: Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics; up-to-date resume including travel experience
- Unit specifics: Comfortable with a 64-bed ED unit including triage, acute care, super track, trauma, CDU, and psych patients; familiar with common ED diagnoses (stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure)
