Through KIPP Forward, we continue to support our alumni as they navigate college, career, and life, helping them define success on their own terms and pursue the paths that align with their goals and sense of purpose.Together, we serve more than 9,400 students, support 4,700 alumni, and employ over 1,100 dedicated team members who bring passion, expertise, and commitment to our mission every day.Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities:General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Lead small-group instruction for grades K-4.Teaching a rigorous academic curriculum that combines the school’s standards and the New York State standards.Teaching students in a high-quality, exciting way.Committing to constant professional and personal growth through working closely as part of a team of teachers.Constantly assessing student progress and communicating results to families and colleagues.Providing individual or small group instruction for students who need additional assistance.Modeling a “whatever it takes” spirit to ensure that each student is successful.Modeling the school’s values in all communications with students, families, and staff.QualificationsStrong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment and a healthy measure of the character traits we value: zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.At least two years of teaching experience strongly preferredNew York State teacher certification in the appropriate content areaBachelor’s degree requiredA passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school cultureA strong desire to become a better teacher by joining the KIPP NYC team and familyDemonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students from the communities KIPP NYC servesAdditional InformationCompensation and Benefits:KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 - $136,704. Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role, NYS initial or professional certification, and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP NYC will evaluate a candidate’s years of experience, certification, and longevity at the point of hire to determine the step/level a new hire will be placed within our teacher salary scale.
