Outreach Coordinator

Student Health and Wellness Center

Outreach Coordinator

The Student Health & Wellness Center (SHW) seeks an engaging and collaborative Outreach Coordinator to support the health and wellbeing of OHSU students and postdoctoral and pathway scholars. This role serves as a central hub for SHW outreach and engagement, coordinating presentations, events, and communications that connect learners to SHW services. As part of the SHW team, this position promotes inclusive, student-centered programming and strengthens SHW's relationships across campus to expand access and impact.

The mission of SHW is to support Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) students, postdoctoral fellows, pathway scholars and their adult dependents in personal health and well-being during their academic careers at OHSU. We work to provide exceptional and confidential primary and behavioral health care, integrative medicine, outreach programming, suicide prevention and food resource assistance, located on the primary OHSU campus on Marquam Hill in Portland, Oregon.

At SHW, we promote a work culture that is passionate about serving our patients, supports work/life balance for each employee, and encourages collaboration between roles. We believe in providing high-quality care for our patients in an environment that also supports the well-being of each team member and of the health of our team as a whole.

Additionally, we follow OHSU's commitment to competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, retirement, life and disability insurance, paid-time-off, holiday pay, commuting benefits, employee wellness program, and more).

Function/Duties of Position

1. Outreach Coordination & Presentation Development and Delivery: Under the direction of SHW leadership, serve as the primary point of contact for all outreach and presentation requests. Triage outreach requests; coordinate and schedule presentations for both department presenters and self; deliver outreach activities, including managing logistics and ensuring consistent, timely follow-up and a high-quality experience for requestors. Develop, customize, and deliver SHW presentations, including creating slide decks and talking points, coordinating provider participation as appropriate, and leading sessions independently. Plan and implement proactive outreach events aligned with SHW goals. Maintain a centralized repository of standardized, accessible presentation materials, and track outreach metrics (e.g., attendance, satisfaction), as well as program expenses, to support reporting and continuous improvement.

2. Student staff coordination: In collaboration with SHW leadership, recruit, train, and provide day-to-day direction to student workers or outreach ambassadors who support tabling, events, and content creation.

3. Student engagement & advisory leadership: Co-lead and facilitate various student groups, including but not limited to Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC); recruit and support student leaders; plan agendas; document action items; and close the loop on feedback to drive service improvements.

4. Communications & marketing: Coordinate and implement SHW's communication and marketing efforts— assist with SHW website updates and regularly monitor for up-to-date information; draft and distribute student-wide messages to appropriate groups (SHAC, All Hill, Student Newsletter); make sure SHW information is accurate in all academic program handbooks/student services information.

5. Other duties as assigned: Participate in SHW and OHSU committees; uphold OHSU policies and SHW values of inclusion, respect, and trauma-informed, culturally-responsive practice.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health promotion, higher education/student affairs, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
