Floor Technician

The Floor TechnicianThe Floor Technician, under the direction of the Janitorial Supervisor or Manager, is responsible for performing specialized floor care tasks including floor stripping, waxing, and carpet and upholstery extraction. Quality customer service and attention to detail are essential. Experience or willingness to learn proper floor care techniques is required.Job Responsibilities:Perform floor stripping, waxing, and buffing on various hard floor surfacesOperate floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, and extractorsPerform carpet and upholstery cleaning using extraction methodsFollow proper chemical labeling, dilution, and usage proceduresMaintain floor care equipment in a clean, safe, and operable conditionEnsure floor surfaces are safe and presentable for daily operationsWear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all timesMaintain janitor and equipment storage areas in a clean and organized mannerAssist with other cleaning or maintenance duties as neededKey Interactions:Engage with leaders and stakeholdersEngage with customers, visitors, and clientsCollaborate with other employeesRequirements (Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Education and/or Experience):Six months or more of floor care or janitorial experience preferredValid Driver's License is a plusExperience with floor machines and extraction equipment is a plusGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and work independentlyAttention to detail and a strong work ethicWorking Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periodsComfortable working with cleaning chemicals and equipmentAbout UG2: Founded in 2012, UG2 is privately held and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
