About the Early Hire Pipeline to Justice Program The Early Hire Pipeline to Justice Program is a hiring program established by Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada where we hire students in their final year of law school and judicial clerks interested in working at Legal Aid Center following graduation or a judicial clerkship. The program begins recruiting in September of each year for 3L/4L law students and judicial clerks to begin working at Legal Aid Center in July or August of the following year. Graduating law students will receive paid time off to study and take the Nevada bar exam, with the bar exam fee paid by Legal Aid Center, and will start work in July. Judicial clerks already licensed to practice can start in August at the conclusion of their clerkships. The ideal candidate is someone interested in public interest law, has a demonstrated commitment to protecting the rights of others, and will zealously advocate for the clients of Legal Aid Center, righting wrongs and changing lives. Early Hire Pipeline to Justice Attorney Position Our Staff Attorneys represent marginalized and disadvantaged clients such as survivors of domestic violence, tenants facing eviction and homelessness, adults with disabilities and the elderly facing abuse and exploitation, consumers victimized by fraudulent and deceptive business practices, children who have experienced abuse and neglect, and many others, giving them a voice in court and a chance to regain control over their lives. Responsibilities: Advocate for clients in court and in settlement negotiations. Conduct legal research and prepare documents related to civil, criminal, and family matters. Assist clients with application and appeals processes regarding aid and benefits. Collaborate with team members to develop strategies to protect client interests. Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policy changes affecting clients. Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited institution. Admission to the Nevada Bar or in the process of admission. Strong commitment to public interest law and client advocacy. Effective communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Ability to work with diverse populations and address complex social issues. The starting salary for a new law graduate is $70,000, and for clerks completing judicial clerkships $75,000.
