About the Position

The shift will be three 12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The role will require the applicant to work two of the three major holidays. Patient ratios during the day are 1:3-4 and 1:4-5 during the night. First-time travelers are not accepted for this role. Weekend requirements will be on an as-needed basis. Travelers will float to all acute care units, rehab, and boarding areas. There is no floating to sister hospitals. Open to block scheduling, only if specified in the posting. Local candidates are accepted; pending licenses are not accepted. Requests for time off should be kept to a minimum to maximize scheduling flexibility. High acuity acute care experience is preferred. Teaching facility experience is highly preferred. The successful candidate will provide care for patients, including those in high-acuity situations. All travelers will receive orientation to five different units over three shifts. Duties will also include monitoring patients for potential complications. Special procedures will involve managing epidural analgesia and PCA pumps. The facility includes a 450 bed capacity with 290 acute care beds. The environments include Medical-Surgical, Cardiac Surgery, Telemetry, Neuro, Rehab, and Transplant units. Healthcare providers may be called off without charge due to low census. References must be provided upon submittal. All applicants must meet personal compliance deadlines before starting. Additional certifications may be required and should be completed prior to the start of the position. Both supervisory and peer references are preferred. Modules may be required prior to starting the position, with completion recorded by the facility.
