Additional pay available for summer quarter and additional assignments. The base salary indicated above has an additional 26% Nursing Educator Stipend pay adjustment to meet industry standards bringing the salary range to $87,676 -$99,745. This pay adjustment is based on continuous funding. This position is primarily medical-surgical focused and the individual in this position contributes to Shoreline College’s mission by supporting diverse students in achieving their educational goals. Essential Functions & Responsibilities Instruction Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved curriculum and course outlines. Develop and maintain engaging, inclusive, and accessible learning environments. Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback. Curriculum & Academic Development Participate in curriculum review, development, and program assessment. Integrate current industry/discipline trends, technology, and pedagogical best practices. Student Support Advise and mentor students regarding academic progress and career pathways. Maintain regular office hours and respond promptly to student inquiries. Professional Engagement Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and college-wide initiatives. Complete 75 service hours per quarter as part of other academic responsibilities which includes advising. Engage in required institutional trainings and ongoing professional development to maintain subject matter expertise. Community & Institutional Service Support outreach, recruitment, and community engagement activities. Contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative campus culture. Education & Experience Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution Professional active, unencumbered RN license in Washington State Current CPR certification Current immunizations At least three (3) years of recent nursing clinical experience Experience precepting nursing students Knowledge of Current applicable developments, research, and trends in the nursing Complex health disturbances/medical-surgical nursing Laws, regulations, and best practice in the field Technology and equipment used in the field Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook and Teams Learning management systems and other appropriate instructional technology(ex. ctcLink, Canvas, Navigate 360, etc.) Skill in Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the instruction of Nursing Fostering a climate of belonging through awareness and responsiveness Communicating effectively and collaboratively and adapting communication as needed Adapting to a variety of teaching situations with students from diverse backgrounds/abilities Teaching and developing/modifying curriculum both collaboratively and independently Working and interacting effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds Physical Work Environment Work is performed in classroom, lab, and clinical environments that require standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Faculty typically use computers and media equipment in the work environment as well as industry specific tools and technology. Faculty are expected to maintain regular, predictable office hours to support student learning and advising. Office hours must be clearly communicated to students and may include on-campus and/or virtual availability, as appropriate to the instructional modality. Office hour expectations follow established workload calculations based on assigned instructional credits. Service and Other Academic Responsibilities Service constitutes approximately 20% of the full-time faculty workload (approx. 75 hours per quarter). Service activities may include, but are not limited to, departmental and divisional meetings, committee and governance participation, completion of required trainings, assessment work, and other professional responsibilities. Service assignments are coordinated with the unit administrator and aligned with division and College needs. Professional Development and Evaluation Faculty are expected to engage in ongoing professional development, including required institutional trainings (such as compliance, equity, and instructional technology) and discipline-specific learning that supports instructional quality and student success. Faculty performance is evaluated in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and established evaluation and Appointment Review Committee (ARC) criteria, as applicable to the appointment type. Term Of Employment/Salary This is a full-time, tenure track position. 172-day annual contract beginning September 17, 2026 Salary placement is determined by the number of qualifying years of teaching/work experience combined with related educational degrees.
