Cardiac Cath Lab Technician

Perm candidates of any other providence facility (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All Swedish facilities honor active compact license. 2 year experience required. Unit does not accept first time travelers. Call required: Yes, typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks. Weekend shifts per contract: typically one weekend per 6 week on standby. Must respond within 30 minutes of call back.

Unit details: Procedures room. 3 cath labs, one hybrid OR

Skills:

• Work settings: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab (required)
• Special Procedures (preferred): Cardiac Cath Lab Procedures
• Required: Cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations adult, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, left heart catheterization, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), right heart catheterization, rotablader athrectomy, temporary pacemaker, ventricular assist device insertion
• Preferred: Optical coherence tomography (OCT), pulmonary artery (PA) line insertion, transcatheter aortic valve implantation/replacement (TAVI/TAVR), watchman
• Equipment and devices (required): Fluoroscopy, Siemens
• Procedural responsibilities (required): Accurate monitoring, equipment set up, perform EKG lead placement, prep access site, recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias, room circulator, scrub-maintain sterile field, vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Professional knowledge and skills (required): Isolation precautions
• Preferred: Use of rapid response team

Scrubs: Provided

All units that have on-call requirements require a 30-minute response time. It is outlined as a standard requirement in the unit description. All Swedish facilities with units that necessitate on-call coverage have a response time of 30 min from when the traveler is called in.
