WHAT YOU'LL DOSupport the full product lifecycle from early prototype through rate production - you'll be involved from system requirements and initial design iterations through manufacturing and delivery, not just one phaseDrive DFM into every decision - developing low-cost, producible designs that can scale from prototype quantities to rate productionNavigate a dynamic solutions trade space that incorporates external constraints, evolving requirements, timeline considerations, and quality in a multi-stakeholder environmentContribute as a member of a multi-disciplinary integrated product team, providing a new perspective to teammates of various backgrounds and experiencesCritically assess mechanical solutions for their value to the end user, cost and ease to manufacture, time to deliver, reliability, reusability across various product lines, and iterabilityMake practical engineering trade-offs - we value judgment and momentum over analysis paralysisInteract with end-users to deeply understand their needs and incorporate feedback into your technical solutionsSupport integration and test activitiesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, a relevant field, or equivalent experience3+ years of professional experience working as a Mechanical or Mechatronics EngineerDemonstrated experience taking a design from concept through multiple iterations into a manufactured product - not just analysis, but actually building and shipping hardwareCapacity to work holistically on complex electromechanical systems across design, implementation, operation and sustainmentCapacity learn and grow individually, building team cohesion and capacityComfort working through ambiguity - priorities shift, vehicle variants evolve, and you'll need to find your own rhythm in a fast-moving environmentEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in subsea, maritime, or autonomous underwater vehicle developmentExperience in aviation, robotics, or consumer products hardware - especially if you can translate those skills to undersea systemsExperience with design, manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, and/or additive manufacturingExposure to design-for-manufacturing principles and rate production environmentsUS Salary Range$129,000—$171,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
