About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in med/surg License: Active nursing license in good standing (compact if indicated) Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, current NIH (annually certified) Must-Have: Telemetry experience, post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention experience Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Med Surg unit. This unit features 46 beds with patient ratios of 6:1. Staffing includes Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, Nurse Externs, and Unit Clerks. The unit is equipped with telemetry boxes, Hoyer lifts, IV pumps, and vitals machines. Documentation is completed using Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires every other weekend and three 12-hour shifts per week. Floating may occur to a sister unit as needed. Experience in patient care practices and new technology is essential. Candidates should demonstrate general med/surg skills, EKG interpretation, and CPAP management. Advanced skills in chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, and central lines are preferred. Procedures performed on the unit include telemetry monitoring and paracentesis. Staff are encouraged to provide feedback to enhance patient care and workflow. Excellent interdisciplinary communication and collaboration are part of the unit's culture. The team is supported by leadership and clinical education resources.
