Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician - FT Flex Evening Shift

The ChristianaCare General Laboratory located on the Newark campus, is currently recruiting for a Full-time Flex Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician. This position is Evening Shift, 2:30pm - 11:00pm. Every other weekend and two to three holidays per year required.

Responsibilities:

* Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual.

* Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures.

* Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary.

* Adheres to all turnaround times, document calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification.

* Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner.

* Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary.

* Performs assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices.

* Performs other related duties as instructed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry or equivalent BS degree which requires completion of clinical rotations through an approved education program required.

• Completion of an associate degree in medical laboratory technology

• ASCP Certification preferred

• Knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and procedures

• Knowledge of infection control techniques and procedures

• Ability to coordinate simultaneous tests and procedures with accuracy

• Skill in the use of automated laboratory equipment

Hourly Pay Range: $29.80 - $44.71 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
