Physical Therapy Assistant

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic services. The PTA assists patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and overall function while ensuring a safe and supportive treatment environment.

Responsibilities:

• Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.

• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities.

• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.

• Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately and timely.

• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and treatment goals.

• Maintain treatment equipment and ensure a clean, safe therapy environment.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.

• Adhere to all facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Education and Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

• Current PTA license/certification in the state of employment.

• CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
