Concrete Carpenter

About this role


Join a busy commercial concrete team in Austin, TX building foundations, slabs, walls, columns and other structural elements. You'll use hands-on carpentry skills to build, set, brace and strip formwork, follow plans and help keep the jobsite safe and productive. This is a physically demanding, full-time day role where experienced carpenters can take on complex tasks and step into small crew leadership. If you take pride in solid craftsmanship, reading plans accurately, and getting work done right and on time, this role fits you.


What you'll do

• Build, set, brace and strip wood and metal concrete formwork for slabs, walls, footings and columns.
• Read and follow blueprints, layouts, grades, elevations and specifications to lay out formwork accurately.
• Use hand and power tools (saws, nailers, levels, drills, measuring tools) safely and maintain tools and forms.
• Prep the site and materials for concrete placement: blocking, shoring, bracing, tying in embeds and cleanup.
• Follow jobsite safety rules, participate in site orientations, and communicate with foremen and concrete crews; lead small crews as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a concrete carpenter or form builder on commercial construction projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, grades and elevations.
• Proven skill building, setting, bracing and stripping formwork for slabs, walls, footings and columns.
• Comfort using hand and power tools in a physically demanding environment and lifting heavy materials.
• Reliable, punctual, able to work day shifts with possible overtime and follow jobsite safety procedures.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 or ability to complete site safety orientation (preferred).
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks where required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Austin jobsites.
• Comfortable reading construction documents in English; Spanish language skills a plus.
