Position Overview
The Negev Foundation seeks a highly organized, adaptable, and proactive professional to provide comprehensive programmatic and executive support in a mission-driven nonprofit environment. This role combines high-level support with meaningful involvement in resource development, communications, and program coordination. The position works closely with the Foundation President and collaborates with affiliated initiatives, including the Ohio-Israel Ag & Cleantech Initiative, to advance the Foundation's mission and strategic priorities. |
The Vice President of Strategic Initiatives plays an integral role in supporting the Foundation's day-to-day operations and impact. Key responsibilities include supporting donor engagement and development activities, coordinating communications with partner organizations and granting foundations, and assisting with cross-program coordination.
The ideal candidate is a trusted team member who values nonprofit work, exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where priorities may evolve. This role is well-suited for a candidate interested in building toward expanded leadership or executive-level responsibilities within the Negev Foundation as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Support
- Provide direct executive support to the Foundation President.
- Coordinate meetings; prepare agendas and briefing materials; track follow-ups; and ensure deadlines and commitments are met.
- Serve as a point of contact for staff, board members, donors, and external partners on behalf of executive leadership.
Development and Resource Support
- Assist with resource development activities, including donor communications, foundation outreach, and related initiatives.
- Support communications with granting foundations, including correspondence, scheduling, submission tracking, and recordkeeping.
- Help prepare development materials, donor updates, reports, and acknowledgments in coordination with leadership.
- Assist with special programs and events related to fundraising, donor engagement, and organizational visibility.
Communications and Marketing Support
- Assist with written content, including executive correspondence, donor communications, program updates, articles, and marketing materials.
- Coordinate with Negev communities, partners, and staff to gather impact stories and maintain a consistent voice and message across communications.
General Support
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Support continuous improvement of administrative, development, and communication processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of experience providing executive, administrative, programmatic, or development support to senior leadership in a nonprofit, foundation, or mission-driven organization.
- Experience or exposure to fund development, resource development, donor relations, foundation outreach, or grant-related communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit executive correspondence, donor communications, articles, and organizational materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with donors, board members, partners, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage complex schedules, competing priorities, and evolving deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, handle confidential information with discretion, and maintain follow-through on commitments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and related tools; experience with a CRM or donor database is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
$65,000 to $75,000 starting salary, plus benefits consistent with Negev Foundation policies:
- $5,000 relocation stipend for candidates relocating to the Cleveland area
