Program Coordinator, Medical EducationAlice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is seeking experienced, motivated, and dedicated leaders and educators to participate in the design and delivery of an innovative four-year medical school curriculum that engages medical students in active and novel learning.The Program Coordinator, Medical Education will have a unique opportunity to work with the Medical Education team to build a free-standing degree-granting medical school in Northwest Arkansas.The Program Coordinator, Medical Education will proactively and continuously manage and support programs, projects, and processes in developing and rolling out the ARCHES curriculum and effectively implement solutions to improve the projects and processes. The Program Coordinator will provide support and implement key strategies for strategic initiatives and stay current and abreast of relevant literature in medical education. The Program Coordinator will work closely with key stakeholders, including but not limited to accreditation agencies, the Heartland Whole Health Institute, local health systems, other schools of medicine, and deans from local, regional, and national schools of medicine to cultivate relationships and implement collaborative practices.We are building a workplace and learning climate where inclusive excellence and whole health principles are inextricable parts of our culture and practices. We are building a school that will facilitate exceptional professional development opportunities for our team members.Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions Specific to the Position:Implement and manage daily needs for work unit as listed by manager and for program success.Develop and recommend processes and coordinate new ideas and improvements.Contribute to ongoing accreditation efforts with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education and the Higher Learning Commission.Coordinate and nurture relationships with remote and in-person partners.Assist with the implementation of instructional technologies such as, but not limited to, ScholarRx, Canvas, One45, and Examsoft.Effectively anticipate and respond to needs and requests, both internal and external.Archive/Document seminal events in the building of the SOM.Manage projects that require excellent multitasking, organization skills, and attention to detail.Organize and coordinate new ideas and programming.Other duties as assigned.Minimum EducationBachelor's DegreeMinimum Work Experiences and Qualifications3-5 years of administrative experience.Experience in process improvement and project managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriateProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Instructional Technologies and ability to learn new software applicationsStrong commitment to self-carePreferred Work Experiences and QualificationsExperience in higher education, medical education, and/or healthcare with an emphasis on program developmentStrong editing and writing skillsEnjoy learning with a solid commitment to professional growthSupport the mission and vision of the AWSOMDemonstrate strong judgment, intellectual agility, and flexibility regarding overall priorities and day-to-day tasksSkills Expected of All AWSOM Team MembersExemplary written, verbal, and other communication skillsAdaptable and flexible to the needs of the position and the schoolCollaborative Skills: Build and maintain relationships internal and external to the organizationCreative and Open-Minded: Enjoy exploring and supporting innovation in teaching strategies, topic areas, professional growth opportunities, and moreDiscerning: Ability to recognize and support innovationHighly self-directed, and reliable, and accountableStrong commitment to self-careCommitted to Diversity and Inclusion: Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g., co-workers, students, community members)Ability to effectively mentor a diversity of individualsCommitment to meet and maintain professional development requirements related to this role.
