Traffic Engineer (Civil Engineer I)

DescriptionDuties and ResponsibilitiesReview of design plans/functional design reports/traffic studies and provide comments via memo, phone, email, meeting, etc.Review of Environmental Impact Documents, Traffic Reports and MassDOT-Highway. Division design submissions and provide appropriate response.Assist with Work Zone Safety & Mobility Initiatives and any related research.Provide technical review of traffic engineering for the Accelerated Bridge Program.Provide miscellaneous tasks as necessary to help the Traffic and Safety Engineering Section when there are staffing needs: Work Zone Safety & Mobility Initiatives, Assist with Road Safety Audits, Specialized Traffic Operations Analyses, etc.This position is eligible for a five-thousand dollar ($5,000) signing bonus (“Signing Bonus”) if you are newly hired at MassDOT. Current MassDOT employees are not eligible for the Signing Bonus. An Associate’s degree with a major in civil engineering** or civil engineering technology** may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.*II.
