Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum periods. Deliver comprehensive patient support while ensuring safety and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess laboring patients' conditions and monitor fetal and maternal well-being.
• Administer medications, including oxytocin and magnesium, as prescribed.
• Perform cervical checks and assist with labor management and delivery procedures.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress using Meditech Expanse and GE CPN Connect EMR systems.
• Respond to emergencies and facilitate neonatal transition support when needed.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience.
• Strong independent L&D skills, including cervical exams, IV starts, and med management.
• Certification in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and EFM.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of standard L&D equipment such as fetal monitors and wireless systems.
