Investment Operations Associate

Job Description:A NY-based Fixed Income Asset Manager is looking for a fixed-income investment operations Associate to work directly with portfolio managers and the operations team to manage operational aspects of the existing book and to assist with expanding and improving operational systems and processes in the future. Candidates must have experience in a front-office trading desk or buy-side investment desk. Client is seeking candidates who (1) understand the fixed income market, bond math and underlying mechanisms rather than simply processing tasks, (2) are detail-oriented, and (3) possess advanced Excel skills. Responsibilities:Monitor all MBS, CLO, ABS, and related derivative tradesReconcile, clear, and settle all fixed-income and derivative tradesWork closely with major sell-side trading counterparties on all trading operations issuesMonitor all the data that enters the firm’s portfolio management, performance, and accounting systemsRequirements:Must have 1-2 years of front-office structured products trading desk experienceMust have 2+ years of relevant fixed-income trade capture, settlements, and operational experience related to MBS, CLO’s and other securitized fixed-income productsMust 1) understand the market, bond math and underlying mechanisms rather than simply processing tasks, (2) are detail-oriented, and (3) possess advanced Excel skills.
