Maintenance Manager

An established manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead a sizable maintenance organization within a complex production environment. This opportunity is best suited for a technically capable, financially minded leader who can develop people, strengthen accountability, improve preventive maintenance execution, and drive greater equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a maintenance organization of approximately 35-40 team members through two maintenance leaders and a team lead.
• Drive execution and accountability within an established preventive maintenance program, ensuring work is completed and documented accurately.
• Lead root-cause investigations following equipment failures and implement corrective actions that prevent recurring downtime.
• Oversee maintenance budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, capital projects, repair spending, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Support the reliability of production equipment and facility systems across multiple buildings and manufacturing operations.
• Communicate equipment issues, repair priorities, and operational risks clearly across shifts and to plant leadership.
• Partner with operations, engineering, safety, purchasing, and senior maintenance leadership on equipment and facility decisions.
• Coach maintenance leaders and technicians while establishing clear expectations around safety, integrity, follow-through, and performance.

Qualifications:

• Previous maintenance management experience within a large manufacturing operation, preferably automotive or another equipment-intensive environment.
• Experience leading supervisors, team leads, and skilled maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand equipment failures, challenge incomplete information, and guide effective troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated experience managing maintenance budgets, forecasting expenses, working with vendors, and supporting capital projects.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs, CMMS documentation, root-cause analysis, safety practices, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to remain composed under pressure, make informed decisions, and communicate openly with plant and senior leadership.
• Practical, patient leadership style with the judgment to hold others accountable without overcomplicating execution.
• Engineering or technical education is beneficial but not required with equivalent manufacturing maintenance experience.
