Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR – Operating Room for a 13‑week assignment in Burlington, Massachusetts. The role involves providing comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring safety and comfort during surgical procedures. Job Details Specialty: OR – Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/13/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications OR Nursing Certification (CNOR) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow. Monitor the patient’s condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon. Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization and disposal according to facility protocols. Manage specimen collection, labeling and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results. Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases, ensuring continuity of care. Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures and standards. Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice. Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills. Physical: must be able to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend and move about. Interpersonal: must work effectively with various personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor: ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using equipment. Mental: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision or independently, and maintain concentration during irregular activity schedules.
