Summary About the Position: This position is located at an Operations Lake Office, which has extensive recreational facilities, substantial and recurring natural resource management activities, high annual recreation attendance and increasing real estate actions. - Prepare and/or works with the project staff in the preparation of various planning documents for the project.
- Assist with lake projects' environmental compliance programs.
- Oversee the conservation, preservation, restoration and use of all project natural resources.
- Provide comments and oversight regarding the recreation sponsor's construction and/or rehabilitation of campsites, picnic sites, roads, and associated structures in the recreation areas.
- Explain to the visiting public conditions prevailing within the project area, its purpose, and association with other programs, rules, and regulations affecting use of facilities, etc.
- Provide expertise in the management of a water resource project as it pertains to the dam and appurtenant structures in conjunction with daily duties.
- Develop guidelines, standards and procedures for analyzing public needs, demands, site carrying capacities and resource capabilities.
- Attend training regarding environmental regulations, using the Environmental Review Guide for Operations (ERGO) as a guide.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift-up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain Corps of Engineers motorboat operators license including all requirements of the District Licensing Policy within 12 months of employment.
