The successful candidate will join a global architecture team and realize the platform vision.The successful candidate will be able to effectively combine long-term strategic vision with hands-on, practical software design, problem solving strengths and leadership skills to help bring about a wide reaching and historic evolution in electronic trading platforms. Job Responsibilities Be an evangelist for the platform-approach to delivering transactions systems Ensure our open platforms remain secure in a challenging, hostile environment Drive the highest levels of quality and service that customers demand Align technology direction to the wider development organisation Promote enterprise reuse of technology components Understand and review current system architecture Take accountability for the design of future system architectures and transition paths from current system Take accountability for designs for high performance, scalable and low latent systems Understand industry trends and ensure new system designs exploit emerging technologies Review of customer environments and design integration; e.g. data and workflow modelling Lead the design of operational environments Ensure design patterns and best practices are communicated to and effectively adopted by development teams Be accountable to ensure all strategic code development adheres to architecture design and guidelines Communicate and win support from senior stakeholders for business-impacting technology decisions Be the driver of efficiency initiatives: Collaborate with development, QA, Application support and Infrastructure managers to improve the operational efficiency of the organization Demonstrate world class technical excellence / lead by example Required Skills Effective collaboration and influence across organizational boundaries Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills Design and architecture of systems and software components Strong verbal and written communications. Demonstrated track record architecting systems for quality, scalability, extensibility and security Experience in information security Experience in building high availability systems Experience with the following a plus: Formal requirements analysis and architecture modeling methodologies and tools Experience delivering Cloud-type services Agile / rapid application development methodologies Real time systems Big data High performance messaging infrastructures Financial markets and trading systems SOHO Square Solutions
