Job Description The Security Engineer position within the Asset and Wealth Management division will be responsible for defining and evaluating solutions while collaborating with engineering teams to improve the firm’s cybersecurity risk posture. This role balances commercial objectives with robust security controls to protect client assets and data against evolving threats. Role Overview The objective is to foster a unified and proactive approach to risk management through early design review and penetration testing engagements with engineering BU teams, enabling secure technological innovation across all Asset and Wealth Management initiatives. Key Responsibilities Hands‑on collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Program Management, and DevOps teams. Secure applications (Cloud/Web/API/Mobile) owned by Asset and Wealth Management in partnership with centralized security teams. Act as a security advisor to architects, developers, analysts, and others to embed confidentiality, integrity, resiliency, and privacy in the platform. Partner with business units to understand requirements, design proposals, and evaluate architectural flaws for various on‑prem/cloud architectures. Evaluate effectiveness of existing key controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance the firm’s security posture. Drive adoption of embedded application security controls within the SDLC using Agile methodology and automated tools. Facilitate secure code reviews and penetration testing. Assist in implementing security‑related product features such as authentication, cryptography, authorization, and service integration. Develop, maintain, and improve the Technology Risk Program to reflect emerging risks. Enable the business to meet security requirements by design. Skills and Experience Required 2‑3+ years of experience in secure architecture design, application security, and risk analysis techniques or related fields. Energetic, self‑directed, and self‑motivated with ability to build and sustain long‑term relationships. Experience managing multiple tasks and using sound judgment while managing risks, prioritizing, and escalating. Ability to work with technical engineers, identify gaps that need addressing, and hold them to account. Knowledge of security testing methodologies, tools, and techniques, and understanding of common application security vulnerabilities and controls. Knowledge of application security best practices including OWASP and CWE, and cloud concepts. Hands‑on software development and/or application penetration testing experience in complex environments (advantage). Ability to balance project management trade‑offs and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across business, partners, and technology peers. Strong desire to learn and contribute solutions and ideas to a broad team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in Financial Services or Fintech. B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, or related field. Experience leveraging AI/ML to solve security problems and scale operations. Knowledge of secure coding languages such as Python, Java, Go. Cloud experience. Certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, CCSP, OSCP (plus).
