Emergency Medical Technician - IV experience

Pay From: $28 per hour



MUST:
The Emergency Medical Technician must have experience with:
EMT license in the State of Virginia
Must have very strong IV skills
BLS and CPR certification



DUTIES:
This position administers infusion nursing care to patients in an office setting
Infusions are performed in accordance with the physician's orders and under the direction and supervision of the physician
The Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for implementing the nursing process in accordance with the professional practice and office policy
The EMT will provide quality care to all patients; understands and adheres to established company policies and regulatory procedures
Process infusion orders, notifies physician of patient needs and changes in condition promptly
Determines the amount and type of nursing needed by each individual patient
Regularly re-evaluates the needs of the patient
Counsels with the patient, family, significant others on nursing, teaching and related needs
Inserts intravenous cannulas, administers prescribed intravenous solutions and medications
Monitors and maintains infusion sites and systems
Evaluates response to prescribed therapy
Prepares clinical records and progress notes for each patient visit in a timely manner.
Participated in team huddles to assure that important information is conveyed to the other members of the office team
