Quantitative Researcher (Full-Time - PhD+)

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Quantitative Trader to join our team. Responsibilities Designing, implementing, and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms Exploring trading ideas by analyzing market data and market microstructure for patterns Creating tools to analyze data for patterns Contributing to libraries of analytical computations to support market data analysis and trading Developing, augmenting, and calibrating exchange simulators Communicating with internal and external trade support, market centers, and other parties to handle real-time trading issues and improve understanding of specific markets Shaping the future of Tower through regular interviewing and infrequent campus recruiting trips Qualifications A Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related fields 0–2 years of experience Proficient in an object‑oriented programming language (C++ and Python preferred) Working knowledge of Linux/Unix – past industry experience is a plus Experience as a Teaching Assistant and/or participation in relevant Olympiads – a plus Familiarity with machine learning, data analysis, market research, and data modeling – a plus Strong problem‑solving abilities Passion for new technologies and ideas Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Strong communication skills Financial experience is not required; interest in financial markets is a plus Annual base salary range in New York: $150,000 – $250,000, plus discretionary bonus eligibility.
