Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a PreK Special Education Teacher supporting exceptional young learners in a nurturing school environment. This position focuses on delivering meaningful instruction to 3-year-old students in a Developmental Delay (DD) PreK classroom. Your passion for early intervention and expertise in special education will help shape these children’s futures and provide them with the tools they need to thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching license, including Early Childhood endorsements
- Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in special education settings
- Strong classroom management and adaptation skills for diverse learning needs
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, specialists, and families
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging classroom environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities
- Design activities that support cognitive, social, and emotional development for young learners with developmental delays
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and school staff regarding student progress and classroom initiatives
- Create a supportive, structured, and welcoming classroom environment emphasizing positive reinforcement and cooperation
This full-time role runs from as soon as possible through May 21, 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week throughout the contract. The school is dedicated to providing essential support to early learners, and your efforts will directly impact students’ growth and school readiness.
