Job Summary The Clinic Medical Assistant supports healthcare providers and clinical staff by performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operations and high‑quality patient care. This role is essential in creating a safe, organized, and compassionate environment for patients. Reporting Structure Reports to: Director, Outpatient Services | Manager, Business Office Hourly range: $18.75 – $27.46 (posted hourly range excludes overtime and bonuses which are not guaranteed) Essential Job Functions Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information accurately Perform basic clinical tasks such as injections, specimen collection, and EKGs (as permitted by scope of practice) Maintain clean, organized, and well‑stocked exam rooms Document patient care in electronic health record (EHR) systems Schedule patient appointments and assist with patient flow Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines Additional Duties Assist with front desk tasks, including patient check‑in and check‑out Handle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries as needed Support inventory management and ordering of medical supplies Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education Perform other duties as assigned Education High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred or required per clinic policy Experience 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred Experience with EHR systems and basic clinical procedures preferred Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds Manual dexterity to perform clinical tasks and use medical equipment Ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary. Immunization Requirements Hepatitis B – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals Influenza – Documentation of current seasonal flu vaccine (mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year) Measles, Mumps, and Rubella – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR vaccination Varicella (chickenpox) – Lab evidence of immunity (titer) to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella vaccine Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) – Documented proof of immunization Tuberculosis screening – Documentation of a two‑step TB skin test within the past year OR lab verification of a negative TB Gold or T‑Spot tuberculin test within the past 6 months * VACCINE RECORDS OR EVIDENCE OF IMMUNITY ARE REQUIRED PRIOR TO 1 st DAY OF SCHEDULED WORK Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
