Serving with Compassion, Creativity, and Consistency. $98-102 an hourPart Time - 26 hours per weekOffice is in Ithaca (Tompkins County), covering Tioga-TompkinsIn office 2-4 days per week Position Summary: As a key member of the Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, the Psychiatrist plays an essential role in prescribing medications, coordinating with the team, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. This position also supports youth and families while educating the team on medication management and health-related issues. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive psychiatric services, including assessment, evaluation, treatment, and psychopharmacology. Additionally, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner offers consultation to families and provides training for staff regarding specific disorders, medication concerns, and treatment strategies. The. As part of the clinical team, they contribute to the interdisciplinary approach, provide staff training, and oversee medication management within the Youth ACT program.  Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Youth ACT interdisciplinary team and external healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive careEducate and train team members on psychiatric conditions, medication side effects, and treatment strategiesProvide training and supervision to support staff development and effective medication managementConduct thorough psychiatric and medical assessments and provide appropriate treatment interventionsOffer ongoing psychiatric services, including assessments, treatment planning, and psychopharmacology, to support youth and families in achieving their goalsActively participate in clinical and interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing expertise in psychiatric care and treatment planningBuild trusting relationships with families to foster open communication regarding medication use and related concernsAdhere to New York State (NYS) practice requirements and ensure all clinical activities comply with regulatory standards  RequirementsEducation:Master 's degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in psychiatric/mental health.
